Job summary

An established industry player is seeking a dedicated Diet Technician to join their Nutrition, Milk Preparation Room team. Job Description

This is a Temporary Full-Time opportunity for up to eighteen (18) months.

We are seeking a Diet Technician to support the Nutrition, Milk Preparation Room at Mount Sinai Hospital. The technician will ensure all breast milk recipes and infant formulas are prepared accurately and efficiently.

Responsibilities
  • Collect, sort, and rotate frozen breast milk in accordance with FIFO principles
  • Order necessary products and materials
  • Check product rotation and expiry dates
  • Manage daily feeding orders and verify feeding volumes
  • Print labels for feedings and communicate with lactation consultants and nurses
  • Maintain temperature logs and monitor equipment
  • Prepare quality assurance reports and production summaries
  • Prepare probiotics and handle breast milk following aseptic procedures
  • Weigh, measure, and calculate ingredients for feedings and research recipes
  • Store and deliver prepared milk and formulas properly
  • Maintain records and work following HACCP guidelines
Job Requirements
  • Completion of a Food and Nutrition Degree/diploma from an accredited institution
  • Minimum three years’ recent related experience; healthcare experience preferred
  • Food Safety Training Certificate is an asset
  • Knowledge of safe food handling procedures
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and independently or as part of a team
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and health information systems
  • Good attendance and work performance
