Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of practical vehicle or truck repair experience preferred.
  • Must be enrolled in an apprentice program.
  • Valid driver's license (Class G or 5) with ability to obtain Class DZ within 6 months.

At Penske, a Diesel Technician III is a mechanic’s helper/apprentice who performs minor component repairs or replacements and assists with major component work under the supervision of a lead technician or supervisor.

Major Responsibilities:
  • Remove, replace, or adjust components such as brakes (air and hydraulic), fifth wheel, electrical parts, cab components, and minor trailer maintenance with supervision
  • Perform preventive maintenance on vehicles as trained
  • Assist with mechanical repairs and replacements as directed by senior technicians or supervisors
  • Handle customer service duties as needed
  • Pick up and deliver vehicles
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area
  • Use hand tools and power tools for repairs and maintenance
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks like oil changes and battery checks
  • Adjust and replace brakes, tighten bolts, and reassemble equipment
  • Raise trucks and heavy parts using hydraulic jacks or hoists
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • 1-2 years of practical vehicle or truck repair experience preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Vocational/Technical certification preferred
  • Must be enrolled in an apprentice program and maintain membership with relevant government agencies
  • Basic knowledge of hand tools required
  • Valid driver's license (Class G or 5) with ability to obtain Class DZ within 6 months
  • Basic computer skills preferred
  • Ability to work in non-climate-controlled conditions
  • Reliable attendance is essential
  • Willingness to travel within the district as needed
Physical Requirements:

The role involves lifting up to 12kg regularly, up to 23kg frequently, and up to 45kg occasionally. Vision and physical activity requirements include standing, walking, sitting, hearing, handling, and reaching. Reasonable accommodations will be made for individuals with disabilities.
