Location : 10020 56 Ave NW, Edmonton AB T6E 5L7

Shift : Monday to Friday 7:00am-3:30pm

Shift Premium : 2nd Shift ($3), 3rd Shift ($4), Weekend ($3)

A Penske Technician II will assist in the overhaul of major components or remove/replace major components under the direction of Lead Technician or Maintenance Supervisor. Responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing systems such as clutches, PTO, electric, hydraulic/air brake, heating/air conditioning, instruments, gauges, and performing preventative maintenance without supervision.

Responsibilities include :
  • Proficiency in repair and diagnosis of engines, powertrain, electrical, HVAC, steering, electronics, and brake systems with some assistance
  • Mechanical reconditioning and equipment preparation for trade-ins and delivery
  • Parts identification and disassembly repair
  • Performing preventive maintenance services
  • Warrantable repairs documentation
  • Maintaining safety and work area appearance
  • Road testing vehicles for diagnostics and performance
  • Using hand and power tools safely and effectively
  • Inspecting brake, steering, wheel bearings, and other critical parts
  • Routine maintenance tasks
  • Adjusting, replacing, and reassembling components
  • Using hydraulic jacks or hoists for lifting
  • Diagnosing malfunctions using test instruments
  • Inspecting safety devices and verifying dimensions
  • Specializing in major component repairs such as engines, transmissions, and differentials
Qualifications :
  • 2 years practical experience with tractor trailer maintenance
  • Currently enrolled in an apprentice program
  • Membership/registration with relevant government agencies
  • Consideration for candidates with 310S license or automotive background
  • Training in vehicle component repair preferred
  • Proficiency with shop tools required
  • Valid driver's license (G or 5), ability to obtain class DZ within 6 months
  • Basic computer skills for maintenance system data entry
  • Ability to work in non-climate-controlled conditions
  • Regular attendance, willingness to travel within district, and work schedule adherence
Physical Requirements :

The physical demands include lifting up to 12kg regularly, 23kg frequently, and 45kg occasionally. Vision abilities include close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment. The role involves standing, walking, sitting, using hands, and reaching frequently. Reasonable accommodations are available for individuals with disabilities.
