Qualifications

Diesel Truck Technician/Mechanic II (3rd-5th Year Apprentice Program)

Location: 1210 Rue Volta, Boucherville, QC J4B 7M7

Shift Premium: 2nd Shift ($3), 3rd Shift ($4), Weekend ($3)

Sign On Bonus: $5,000

A Penske Technician II typically assists in overhauling major components or removing/replacing major parts under supervision. You should be able to diagnose and repair systems such as clutches, PTO, electric, hydraulic/air brakes, HVAC, instruments, gauges, and perform preventative maintenance.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and repair engines, powertrain, electrical, HVAC, steering, electronics, brakes, suspension, and major components
  • Perform reconditioning for trade-ins and prepare new equipment
  • Identify parts for repairs, perform preventive maintenance, and document repairs
  • Maintain safety and work area cleanliness
  • Road test vehicles and use various hand and power tools
  • Inspect and test vehicle systems, and verify dimensions and clearances
  • Specialize in repairing major components such as engines, transmissions, and differentials
  • Other tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years practical experience with tractor trailer maintenance
  • Enrolled in an apprentice program and maintaining membership with relevant agencies
  • Candidates with a 310S license or automotive background considered
  • Proficiency with shop tools, valid driver’s license (G or 5), and ability to obtain DZ license within 6 months
  • Basic computer skills, ability to work in non-climate-controlled conditions, and regular attendance required

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 45kg with accommodations available
  • Vision abilities: close, distance, peripheral, depth, focus
  • Regularly standing, walking, sitting, using hands, and reaching required
