Qualifications

  • 4-6 years of experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a commercial vehicle dealership.
  • Peterbilt, International, Ford, Hino, Isuzu, Cummins, & ASE certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

Job description

Here at Rush, you’ll conduct preventative maintenance and major or minor repairs on Peterbilt, International, Hino, Isuzu, Ford, IC Bus, and Blue Bird vehicles, keeping our customers satisfied and on the road.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate/OSHA Standards, and perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
  • Perform preventive maintenance inspections and ensure the timely and effective repair of issues identified during inspections.
  • Inspect, diagnose, and perform moderately complex repairs on assigned vehicles and equipment.
  • Provide assistance, guidance, and direction to other maintenance personnel.
  • Utilize vehicle computer electronic systems to interpret failure modes and initiate or assign repairs.
  • Estimate time and material costs for repairs and requisition parts.
  • Immediately inform the supervisor if additional work is needed or if repairs cannot be completed within the Standard Repair Times (SRTs).
  • Inspect the quality of outside/supplier repairs or rebuilds and assess structural damage to determine necessary repairs using appropriate methods.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers to enhance satisfaction.

Basic Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 4–6 years of experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a commercial vehicle dealership, fleet, or related truck service facility
Additional Qualifications:
  • 5 years' experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or related truck service facility
  • Current CDL preferred but not required
  • Medical card as required by FMVSS
  • Mechanical aptitude and technical ability
  • Peterbilt, International, Ford, Hino, Isuzu, Cummins, & ASE certifications are preferred and rewarded
