Job summary

The Bayview Group in Bathurst, NB is hiring a Technician to diagnose and repair medium to heavy-duty trucks and trailers. The role includes preventive maintenance, road testing, and completing accurate repair documentation.

You will work in a team, handle after-hours calls, and uphold safety and quality standards. Required are a college certification in Truck & Transport or Heavy Equipment Service (BLOCK 3), a valid driver’s abstract, and at least 4 years in a service environment.

Qualifications

• Completion of a College certification for Truck & Transport OR Heavy Equipment Service Technician– MINIMUM BLOCK 3 COMPLETION.
• Ability to lift and move a maximum of 50 lbs (or per safety standards).
• Willing and able to continue training.
• Clean Driver’s abstract and Criminal Record check.
• Basic computer skills with Windows-based software.
• Minimum 4 years experience in a service environment.

Responsibilities

• Repair and diagnose medium and heavy-duty trucks and trailers (engines, power trains, electrical, brakes, suspension).
• Identify parts required for repair of disassembled units.
• Perform all levels of preventive maintenance services.
• Document warrantable repairs on repair orders.
• Road test vehicles to verify repairs and diagnose issues.
• Complete technical reports for manufacturers accurately and timely.
• Cover after-hours service calls for emergencies.
• Maintain professional conduct and a clean, organized workspace.

Job description

The Bayview Group is a full service, parts and sales dealer for Kenworth Trucks and KUBOTA farm and construction Equipment. We are currently hiring for our Bathurst New Brunswick location.

• 5 days 8 hours per day
• 4 days 10 hours per day
• 3 days 13.50 hours per day
• Signing Bonus available for Red Seal Certified Heavy Equipment/Truck & Trailer Technicians. Also, completion of Block 4 working on Red Seal Certification. To be eligible for the bonus program resumes must be sent directly to Bayview's job ads.

Key Responsibilities for a Technician

• Demonstrate proficiency in the repair and diagnosis of medium and heavy-duty trucks and trailers, including but not limited to engines, power trains, electrical systems, steering systems, electronics, brake systems and suspension systems
• Identify and determine parts required for repair of disassembled units.
• Perform all levels of preventive maintenance services
• Identify warrantable repairs and document on repair order.
• Road test vehicles when necessary to diagnose malfunctions or verify repair resolution.
• Complete technical reports from different manufacturers, in a timely accurate manner.
• Available to work covering the After-hours Service call for emergencies.
• Ability to work in a team environment and present themselves in a professional manner with a positive cooperative attitude.
• Maintain an organized workspace and adhere to all company policies and procedures.
