Overview

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines and heavy equipment. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. The Diesel Mechanic will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our fleet and equipment.


Duties


  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, including Caterpillar and other brands.

  • Diagnose mechanical issues using automotive diagnostics tools and schematics.

  • Conduct repairs on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, and farm machinery.

  • Overhaul transmissions, air brakes, hydraulics, suspension systems, shocks & struts, and HVAC systems.

  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment for repairs and fabrication tasks.

  • Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance performed on vehicles and equipment.

  • Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding their vehicle needs.

  • Assist in the assembly and disassembly of various components as required.

  • Ensure compliance with safety standards while performing heavy lifting and tire service tasks.


Qualifications


  • Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in diesel engine repair and automotive repair.

  • Familiarity with heavy equipment operation and maintenance practices.

  • Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic software.

  • Experience with electrical systems and troubleshooting is preferred.

  • Ability to read schematics and technical manuals effectively.

  • Previous dealership experience is a plus.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in all repairs performed.

  • Capability to lift heavy objects safely and efficiently as part of the job requirements.
