Diesel Mechanic

Summary

Our vital and growing firm is searching for a highly skilled Diesel Truck Mechanic to work alongside our team of mechanics and be responsible for maintaining and repairing our fleet of over 50 vehicles and equipment, including Freightliner FL70's, MT55's service trucks, Mack tandem and tri-axle dump trucks, CAT backhoes, Case 580 backhoes, 185CFM and 210CFM air compressors, and a wide assortment of pneumatic and other tools.

Responsibilities

• Manage work orders, and inventory of parts, equipment, tools, and supplies.
• Service heavy diesel engine vehicles, including preventative, routine maintenance and repairs.
• Handle routine repairs, including oil and tire changes.
• Diagnose and repair vehicles and all other equipment in our fleet.
• Execute special projects as assigned by management.
• Knowledge of DOT inspections and perform preventative maintenance.
• Keep detailed records and maintenance schedules.

Qualifications

• Valid and clean driver’s license.
• Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States.
• Minimum of 5 years of diesel vehicle relevant experience.
• Owning a set of tools is a plus (but our mechanic's shop is fully equipped and stocked).
• Mechanical and technical knowledge: use of computers and diagnostics tools to troubleshoot and repair all faulty equipment.
• Ability to diagnose and repair: Electrical, Brakes, Exhaust, Suspension, Lights.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the proven ability to work effectively with employees at all levels.
• Proven ability to work independently, exercise good judgment, and seek additional information as appropriate.
• Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $28 - $36 per hour
