Job summary

Can Art Aluminum Extrusion in Brampton is seeking a Die Handler to join our shift team. You will prepare dies, deliver them to extrusion presses, and support production by following work orders and safety rules to ensure quality outputs.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a die handler or operator capacity.
  • Previous experience in heavy manufacturing is an asset.
  • Basic computer skills required.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver the required dies to the presses based on work order sequence.
  • Remove dies from die carts and load into the caustic cycle to clean excess aluminum from the dies for future runs.
  • Separate hollow and feeder dies.
  • Process spent caustic tanks to the holding tank and prepare new tanks of caustic.
  • Clean dies using water hose to remove caustic build up.
  • Load dies into the sandblaster, setting cycle times and turning dies over as required.
  • Assemble and break down tooling.
  • Use Epics system to retrieve and put dies away based on location.
  • Maintain a safe and clean workspace at all times.
  • Follow the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Can Art policies.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Die Handler is responsible to prepare and bring all dies to the correct extrusion press based on the scheduled orders for the shift.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
  • Responsible to deliver the required dies to the presses based on work order sequence

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a die handler or operator capacity
  • Previous experience in heavy manufacturing is an asset
  • Basic computer skills required
SKILLS REQUIRED
  • Must be able to read and write in English
  • Able to work at a quick pace with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational, time management and multitasking skills
  • Team player that is able to work with little to no supervision
  • Knowledge of health and safety best practices in a manufacturing environment
  • Authorization to work in Canada without sponsorship is required.
COMPENSATION

Eligible for overtime (as applicable)

Pay Range: $22.95-$23.45

WORK SCHEDULE AND LOCATION
  • Plant Environment
  • Exposure to loud noise and heat
  • Ability to work rotating shifts and occasional overtime as required
