Primary Purpose of Position
Reporting to the Production Superintendent, the incumbent will be responsible for ensuring that production requirements and customer needs are met. The role also involves addressing environment, health & safety issues, including incident prevention and resolution. Additionally, the incumbent will oversee employee training and well-being, including orientation and on-the-job support.
Major Responsibilities of Position
- Safety: Champion health, safety, and environmental initiatives within the team. This includes investigating safety incidents, enforcing company rules, attending safety meetings, and promoting housekeeping and 6S practices with a target of 90% plant-wide adherence.
- Productivity: Manage daily operations, lead decision-making, support launch and APQP activities, and ensure production targets meet customer requirements. Follow PM and production schedules.
- Leadership and Supervision: Foster a positive work environment, spend time on the production floor, meet OEE targets, conduct meetings, develop action plans, recognize performance, and handle corrective actions and discipline.
- Support TPM Activities: Support TPM activities, encourage participation, ensure proper documentation, complete mandatory training, and ship quality parts on time.
- Scheduling: Manage attendance, leave, vacation, and die maintenance scheduling in collaboration with technical team members.
- Communication: Conduct team meetings, develop action plans, and communicate effectively via email and other channels.
- Customer Focus: Resolve conflicts, process issues, and customer complaints.
- Evacuation Procedures & ERT: Coordinate head counts, relay information, lead ERT participation, and maintain contact with emergency response teams.
- Other Responsibilities: Undertake special projects and additional duties as required.

Educational and Certification Background
1 | Post-secondary education in manufacturing or engineering (highly desirable) |
2 | Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment or progressive supervisory management experience within Meridian (essential) |
