The Die Assembler is responsible for assembling, inspecting, and preparing extrusion dies for production. This role involves working with the Die Corrector to ensure all parts meet quality and production standards. The Die Assembler plays a key role in ensuring efficient operations and high-quality extrusion output.
What You Will Do:
- Die Assembly: Assemble dies and related components according to specifications, ensuring proper alignment and fit. Follow work orders and technical drawings to accurately prepare dies for extrusion.
- Inspection and Quality Control: Inspect die components for defects, wear, or damage prior to assembly. Verify that completed dies meet quality standards, using precision measuring tools for alignment and dimensional accuracy.
- Tool Preparation and Maintenance: Clean, polish, and lubricate die parts as required. Perform basic maintenance, including minor repairs or adjustments.
- Record Keeping: Document die assembly processes, parts used, inspections, and adjustments. Communicate issues or repairs needed with team members.
- Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve issues with die components, collaborating with supervisors and maintenance teams for complex repairs.
- Safety Compliance: Follow safety protocols, including PPE use, and handle dies and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Collaboration: Work with other Die Shop personnel, Extrusion Operators, and Maintenance Technicians to ensure workflow efficiency and meet production schedules.
- Machine Operation: Operate the Nitriding Furnace, Die Cleaning, and Graf machines according to SOPs.
About You:

- Able to work full-time: four 10-hour shifts per week
- 1-2 years of production experience
- Mechanically inclined
- Familiar with LO/TO PPE and safety policies
- Consistently wear prescribed PPE
- Reliable transportation
- Experience with computer software and applications
- Able to lift/push/pull/carry up to 35 lbs. repeatedly and stand for entire shift
