The Faculty of Education at the University of Ottawa is seeking a Mathematics Didactics professor for a tenure-track position. The ideal candidate will focus on the teaching of mathematics, specifically in geometry and algebra, and will contribute to the academic community through research and supervision of students. This role involves teaching in a bilingual environment, emphasizing innovation and inclusive practices.
As part of the expansion of our research programs the Faculty of Education at the University of Ottawa invites applications for one tenure track position.

Title of the Position : Mathematics Didactics (francophone programs)
We are seeking to fill a position for a professor whose research focuses on didactics of mathematics particularly in the areas of geometry and algebra teaching as well as digital learning. We particularly value innovative contributions that are sensitive and adapted to the realities of Francophone minority multilingual and multicultural environments (including Indigenous perspectives). The candidate must be able to offer courses in mathematics didactics to future teachers of the intermediate and senior cycles who will work in Frenchlanguage schools in Ontario.
The selected candidate will be responsible for the direction of the Formation lenseignement program and will have the capacity to meet all the requirements of the role including the ability to connect both teaching programs (in French and English) the professional development sector and the facultys graduate program.
Duties : The functions of a member of the academic faculty include in varying proportions : a) teaching activities; b) scholarly activities in the form of research artistic or literacy creation or professional work; c) academic service activities; and d) supervision of graduate students.
Terms : Tenuretrack position (Assistant Professor). The rank of Associate Professor could be considered.
Wage : Salary scale for an Assistant Professor starts at $99377 (as of May 1 2025)
