Job summary

Brightshores in Owen Sound is seeking a part-time Dialysis Assistant to support the Dialysis Unit. The role reports to the Manager of Brightshores Cancer Center, Oncology, and Dialysis and involves assisting the interdisciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care.

Candidates should have dialysis training, aseptic technique, and strong computer skills including order entry. The position requires lifting up to 25 lbs and provides relief coverage as needed within a collaborative team

• Support Interdisciplinary Team in dialysis patient care.
• Set up, prime, clean, and move dialysis machines.
• Provide relief coverage as needed.
• Ensure patient safety and appropriate documentation.

DEPARTMENT: DIALYSIS UNIT

STATUS: PART-TIME

REASON TO POST: DIRECT REPLACEMENT

WAGE RATE: $27.728 - $28.312

Reporting to the Manager of Brightshores Cancer Center, Oncology, and Dialysis, the Dialysis Assistant plays a key role in the Dialysis Unit by supporting the Interdisciplinary Team to provide quality patient care.

SKILLS / ABILITIES / QUALIFICATIONS

Required

• Previous Dialysis training and experience
• Ability to understand written and verbal job instruction
• Secondary School Diploma
• Knowledge of and proven application of aseptic technique
• Working knowledge of computers
• Functional ability to set up, prime, clean and move dialysis machines
• Ability to lift supplies and equipment up to 25lbs and assist with patient lifts/transfers
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work within a team
• Demonstrated knowledge of nursing computer applications (i.e. order entry)
• Ability to provide relief coverage
• Demonstrated effective communication skills
• Recent satisfactory performance and attendance records
