Job summary

Cuenion in Toronto is seeking an experienced Dialogue Editor to make every word clear, consistent, and natural across film and television projects. You will clean and assemble production dialogue, select the best takes, identify ADR needs, and deliver dialogue tracks ready for the Re-Recording Mixer.

The role requires expert Pro Tools and iZotope RX skills, a meticulous ear for noise and timing, and the ability to work across concurrent projects with tight delivery schedules while supporting ADR

Qualifications

• Proven dialogue editing experience on feature film or episodic television.
• Expert Pro Tools and iZotope RX proficiency.
• Experience preparing ADR cue lists and cutting ADR.
• Ability to work under tight, shifting delivery schedules.

Responsibilities

• Clean and repair production dialogue, including noise reduction, room tone fills, and edit smoothing
• Search alternate takes to find cleaner or stronger performances
• Split production effects (PFX) to support the M&E
• Prepare ADR cue lists and coordinate with ADR recordist and Post-Production Coordinator
• Deliver organized, clearly labelled dialogue tracks for pre-mix and final mix

Role Description

The Dialogue Editor makes every word in a film clear, consistent, and natural. You clean and assemble production dialogue, find the best takes, identify lines that need ADR, and deliver dialogue tracks the Re-Recording Mixer can work with right away. Dialogue is often the largest editorial task on a project, and this role carries it.

• Clean and repair production dialogue, including noise reduction, room tone fills, and edit smoothing
• Search alternate takes to find cleaner or stronger performances
• Split production effects (PFX) to support the M&E

ADR

• Prepare ADR cue lists for lines that can't be saved
• Work with the ADR recordist and Post-Production Coordinator to plan sessions
• Cut and fit ADR so it matches the production track in sync, tone, and perspective

Delivery

• Prepare organized, clearly labelled dialogue tracks for pre-mix and final mix
• Deliver revisions quickly as picture changes and notes come in

Qualifications

• Proven dialogue editing experience on feature film or episodic television (please include credits)
• Expert Pro Tools and iZotope RX proficiency
• A meticulous ear for noise, sync, and performance consistency
• Experience preparing ADR cue lists and cutting ADR
• Comfort working to tight, shifting delivery schedules across concurrent projects
• Based in Ontario or British Columbia (your residency matters for our clients' provincial tax credit eligibility)
