Job summary

A healthcare organization in Canada is seeking a Diagnostic Sonographer II to coordinate daily operations within the ultrasound service area. This role includes organizing team activities, managing complaints, and ensuring quality assurance in ultrasound services. Ideal candidates will have an accredited diploma or certification in Diagnostic Sonography and must be registered with relevant professional bodies. BCLS certification is also required. This position is vital for providing high-quality healthcare services.

Qualifications

  • Completion of extended diploma from an accredited ultrasound program.
  • Active or eligible for registration with Sonography Canada and/or ACMDTT and/or ARDMS.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily operations of the service area.
  • Ensure ultrasound services are operational.
  • Handle patient and staff complaints.
  • Maintain quality assurance programs.
  • Assist in research and evaluation of Sonography programs.

Education

Overview

As a Diagnostic Sonographer II, you will coordinate the daily operations of the service area. This includes organizing and coordinating all technical and daily work activities for your team of Diagnostic Sonographer I(s) and other health care providers, ensuring that ultrasound services are available and operating at an optimum level. In addition, you will handle patient and staff complaints and problems related to services, maintain quality assurance and quality control programs for the area, assist in research, development, maintenance and evaluation of Sonography programs and services and assist in the development of policies, procedures and guidelines.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications

Completion of extended diploma from an accredited ultrasound program or completion of certification in Diagnostic Sonography from an accredited program. Active or eligible for registration with Sonography Canada and/or Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic & Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT and/or American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP).
