Job summary

Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) in Nanaimo seeks a General Radiologist with Nuclear Medicine specialty to join the Department of Medical Imaging. The role covers Nuclear Medicine and Radiology, including PET/CT, ultrasound, CT, MRI, and interventional work as needed.

Preference is given to candidates with subspecialty training or substantial experience; breast imaging is a plus. Eligibility for RCPSC certification in Radiology and Nuclear Medicine and full licensure in BC are

Qualifications

• Eligible for RCPSC certification in Radiology and Nuclear Medicine
• Experience in Nuclear Medicine and Radiology including PET/CT, US, CT, MRI and other imaging
• Comfort with minor interventional procedures and breast imaging is an asset

Responsibilities

• Provide Nuclear Medicine and Radiology imaging services.
• Perform PET/CT, US, CT, MRI and other imaging modalities.
• Contribute to group Nuclear Medicine imaging services for Vancouver Island.
• Engage in subspecialty interests and supervise/interact with imaging teams

Job description

Role and Facility Information

The Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) Department of Medical Imaging in Nanaimo is seeking a General Radiologist with Nuclear Medicine specialty.

Opportunity to practice both Nuclear Medicine and Radiology, including, PET/CT, US, CT, MRI, General Radiology and other areas of interest.

The group provides Nuclear Medicine imaging services to the mid and North Vancouver Island.

Preference will be given to candidates holding either subspecialty training, or significant clinical experience. We will consider a variety of specialty interests/training. Experience with breast imaging, including screening, would be an asset. The work includes all facets of Medical Imaging and applicants must be comfortable with minor interventional procedures.

Candidates must be eligible for Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certification in both Radiology and Nuclear Medicine and be eligible for full licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC.
