Job summary

Vancouver General Hospital hosts the Nuclear Medicine team at Vancouver Coastal Health, inviting applications for a Nuclear Medicine Technologist.

You will perform radiopharmaceutical manufacturing, radiopharmacy dispensing, sterility‑based cell labeling, and operate laboratory equipment with strict safety and GMP standards.

Certification with the CAMRT and at least two years of related experience are required, with strong communication and the ability to work independently.

• CAMRT certification in Nuclear Medicine.
• Two years of recent experience in radioisotope imaging and radiopharmacy dispensing.

Responsibilities

• Perform radiopharmaceutical manufacturing and sterile cell labelling for lower mainland hospitals.

Come work as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH)!

Vancouver Coastal Health is looking for a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join the Nuclear Medicine team at Vancouver General Hospital.

As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist You Will

• Perform additional procedures/techniques and related duties within Nuclear Medicine such as radiopharmaceutical manufacturing and special cell labelling for lower mainland hospitals.
• Perform duties including;
  • preparing and dispensing radiopharmaceuticals for shipping,
  • labelling cells using sterile techniques,
  • instructing manufacturing and cell labeling techniques to staff,
  • operating nuclear medicine laboratory equipment,
  • performing routine quality control tests on equipment and radiopharmaceuticals,
  • monitoring radioactive storage areas utilizing appropriate detection devices and disposing of radioactive substances and contaminated items by following established guidelines.

The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes. Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check.

As per Ministry of Health policy, all health care workers working in publicly-funded health care facilities are required to report their past receipt of certain vaccines or history of certain infections. Collecting these records will allow for offering of any missing vaccines, and for appropriate actions to be taken in the event of any future exposure to a communicable disease or during outbreaks. For all new hires and appointments to Vancouver Coastal Health, you will be asked to provide this information as part of the onboarding process.

Education & Experience
