Job summary

Health Match BC is assisting Island Health’s Medical Imaging department in Nanaimo to recruit a General Radiologist with Nuclear Medicine specialty. The role offers practice in Nuclear Medicine and Radiology, including PET/CT, US, CT, MRI, and general radiology with interventional opportunities.

Preference for subspecialty training or significant clinical experience; breast imaging experience is a plus. Eligible for RCPSC certification in Radiology and Nuclear Medicine and full licensure in BC

Qualifications

• Must be eligible for RCPSC certification in Radiology and Nuclear Medicine.
• Eligible for full licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC.
• Preference for subspecialty training or significant clinical experience. Breast imaging experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Practice both Nuclear Medicine and Radiology, including PET/CT, US, CT, MRI and general radiology.
• Engage in minor interventional procedures as required.
• Collaborate with the Nuclear Medicine imaging group serving mid and north Vancouver Island.
• Provide high-quality patient care and contribute to group education and quality initiatives.

Role and Facility Information

The Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) Department of Medical Imaging in Nanaimo is seeking a General Radiologist with Nuclear Medicine specialty.

Opportunity to practice both Nuclear Medicine and Radiology, including, PET/CT, US, CT, MRI, General Radiology and other areas of interest.

The group provides Nuclear Medicine imaging services to the mid and North Vancouver Island.

Preference will be given to candidates holding either subspecialty training, or significant clinical experience. We will consider a variety of specialty interests/training. Experience with breast imaging, including screening, would be an asset. The work includes all facets of Medical Imaging and applicants must be comfortable with minor interventional procedures.

Candidates must be eligible for Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certification in both Radiology and Nuclear Medicine and be eligible for full licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC.
