Reporting to the Manager, Health Services, and working under the direction of the Diagnostic Neurophysiology Technologist Supervisor, the Diagnostic Neurophysiology Technologist performs technical functions related to Diagnostic Neurophysiology. Duties include conducting various tests such as Electroencephalography (E.E.G.), Multiple Sleep Latency, Evoked Potentials, Nerve Conduction studies, Electromyography (E.M.G.) and Magnetic Evoked Potentials (M.E.P.), recording measurements, formulating technical reports for interpretation by medical staff in clinical diagnosis and performing operating room monitoring procedures as required.
Education and Experience
Graduation with a Diploma of Technology in Electroneurophysiology (British Columbia's Institute of Technology), two years' recent, related experience or equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Certification with the Canadian Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic Technologists (CBRET) or the Board of Registration of Electromyography Technologists of Canada (BRETC). Current membership with the British Columbia Society of Electroneurophysiology Technologists (BCSET) or the Association of Electromyography Technologists of Canada (AETC).
