Collingwood General and Marine Hospital (CGMH) is an 84 bed hospital located in Collingwood, Ontario (approximately 90 minutes north of Toronto) that serves more than 74,000 residents and 3.5 million visitors annually. It provides emergency care, diagnostic services including lab, imaging, cardio respiratory therapy, and inpatient units (medicine and surgery). The hospital also offers specialty care such as obstetrics, orthopaedics, intensive care, and surgery, along with outpatient services like dialysis and various clinics. The Opportunity

The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer is responsible for delivering efficient imaging procedures within Ultrasound, performing high-quality imaging, and providing patient-centered care while maintaining safety practices.

Qualifications
  • Active member in good standing with the College of Medical Radiation Technologists of Ontario
  • Good interpersonal skills and effective team collaboration
  • Ability to work independently and without supervision
  • Professional attitude, conscientious, reliable, responsible, and flexible
  • Commitment to providing a safe and supportive environment
  • Adherence to Occupational Health and Safety Act duties
  • Effective communication skills in English; additional languages are assets

  • Physical ability to perform duties, including patient transfers and movement

Duties And Responsibilities
  • Uphold hospital values and policies
  • Follow departmental procedures and safety regulations
  • Report equipment issues and ensure proper maintenance
  • Maintain infection control standards and mentor staff
  • Ensure patient and personnel safety
  • Perform technical procedures with judgment and skill
  • Review patient history and assess study quality
  • Perform quality control and report malfunctions
  • Complete clerical tasks as needed
  • Comply with PHIPA and other relevant regulations

Start Date: In line with next Hospital Orientation intake

Hours of Work: Days, Nights, and Weekends

Note: Operations run 24/7; flexibility for all shifts is required.

Wage: $36.84 - $51.77
