Job summary

Kingston Health Sciences Centre's Kingston General Hospital Site is seeking a Part-time Nurse Practitioner in Diabetes Education with day shifts. The NP will function as a Registered Nurse in the Extended Class, autonomously diagnosing, ordering tests, prescribing medications and performing procedures within scope.

Successful candidates will hold an Ontario RN Extended Class registration, a Masters in Nursing or related field, and demonstrate leadership and mentorship skills.

Qualifications

• Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as RN Extended Class.
• Masters of Science in Nursing or an equivalent.
• Membership with CNA/RNAO/NPAO is preferred.
• Minimum 3 years nursing experience in the relevant clinical area.
• Demonstrated leadership, mentoring and education abilities.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and with the interprofessional team.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, comprehensive clinical care to patients.
• Diagnose, order and interpret tests, and prescribe medications within scope.
• Collaborate with the interprofessional team to plan and coordinate care.
• Lead and mentor staff and students, promoting evidence-based practice.
