Job summary

BMO is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join our DevOps/SRE teams in Toronto. You will design, build, and operate resilient infrastructure across on-prem and AWS, focusing on reliability, security, and automation for premium financial platforms.

You'll partner with development, operations, and security teams to implement CI/CD pipelines, maintain observability, and manage incident response. This role requires strong communication and a proactive, data-driven approach to production

Qualifications

• 5+ years in DevOps, SRE, or related roles in hybrid on-prem and AWS.
• Strong AWS services and IaC experience (CDK/TypeScript preferred).
• Hands-on with Ansible and YAML configuration management.
• Observability platforms experience (Dynatrace, Elasticsearch, CloudWatch).
• Scripting in Python/Bash/JavaScript; automation-first mindset.
• Knowledge of security and regulatory compliance in financial services.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate secure, scalable infrastructure for critical applications.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines, release strategies, and recovery mechanisms.
• Monitor systems with observability tools; lead incident response and RCA.
• Provide end-to-end ownership of mission-critical platforms, including production support.
• Support deployment activities and address issues to resolution.
• Ensure compliance with enterprise standards and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in on-call rotation.
