Donna Cona Inc. is currently seeking a DevOps Engineering Specialist – Intermediate, for one of our key clients in the insurance industry. The experienced DevOps Engineer with have strong technical expertise in CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and cloud platforms. The ideal candidate will excel in collaboration and communication, bridging gaps between software development and IT operations to enhance software delivery speed and system reliability.

The successful candidate will contribute to the design and development of the DevOps improvements, Proof of Concepts as well as the end-to-end lifecycle, aligning to best practices, organizational standards and directions in collaboration with product and architecture. To be successful in this role, you will maintain a high degree of technical and security acumen related to your DevOps engineering.

Candidate MUST have the following:

  • Post-secondary degree/diploma in business or computer science or an equivalent combination of training and experience;
  • Over five (5+) years of experience in DevSecOps, Cloud/DevOps or demonstrable transferrable skills;
  • Experience working with tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible or other Infrastructure as Code (IaC);
  • Expertise with CI/CD tooling such as Git, Jenkins, SonarQube, Nexus, Vault etc.;
  • Experience of working with at least one of the major public cloud providers (Azure, GCP or AWS) and a willingness to continue to expand your knowledge;
  • Strong understanding of authentication patterns including SAML SSO and JWT;
  • Willingness to work in 24/7 operational capacity, with occasional on-call based on operational requirements;
  • Comfortable discussing the SDLC process and identifying areas for automation or improvement;
  • Proven experience and understanding of engineering best practices;
  • Ability to communicate, verbally and in writing, complex concepts to a non-technical audience;
  • Working knowledge of Jira and Confluence an asset; and
  • Experience working in financial services industry an asset.

Candidate should have the following demonstrated experience:

  • Design and maintain continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to automate code testing and deployment;
  • Track software performance, fix errors, troubleshoot systems, and implement preventive measures for smooth workflows;
  • Optimize cloud resources and implement cost-effective solutions;
  • Implement and manage infrastructure using code, utilizing tools like Terraform or CloudFormation for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) management;
  • Collaborate with teams to resolve issues quickly and deploy new features smoothly;
  • Monitor and create new processes based on performance analysis;
  • Manage the software development process and implement configuration management tools;
  • Automate repetitive tasks to improve team efficiency; and
  • Implement security best practices, including automated compliance checks and secure code deployment.

Candidate Assets to set you apart:

  • Prior knowledge of Salesforce, especially in relation to CI/CD strategies and technologies;
  • Deep working knowledge of Terraform and state management;
  • Prior experience with f5 WAF’s, SDNs, etc.; and
  • Industry Cloud certifications or similar.
