DevOps Engineer - Media & Entertainment Workflows

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer with solid expertise in media & entertainment technologies. As a DevOps Engineer, you’ll help our customers design and deploy creative production workflows in the cloud, developing systems for top studios worldwide and providing tools to artists for creating film, television, and video game content.

The ideal candidate will have experience with render farms—specifically Deadline—and creative applications like Nuke, Maya, C4D. You should be comfortable working cross-platform with Windows/Mac and proficient in Linux command line, as this role involves extensive Linux CLI work. Packaging apps in Conda is also essential for customizing solutions for our clients.

This role involves direct interaction with project stakeholders and end-users. Strong English communication skills and the ability to understand and translate customer requirements into technical solutions are crucial. Your ability to bridge engineering and creative workflows will be key to success.

Responsibilities
  • Engage with customers to assess VFX workflows and identify cloud-based process improvements
  • Design, deploy, and optimize cloud environments supporting rendering, collaboration, and data management
  • Integrate AWS Deadline Cloud into customer pipelines for efficiency and scalability
  • Deploy infrastructure for artist workstations, render nodes, and storage solutions
  • Implement secure, high-performance remote workflows, including networking and VPNs
  • Automate deployment and maintenance with Ansible and other infrastructure-as-code tools
  • Support cross-platform interoperability across Windows, macOS, and Linux
  • Assist with filesystem architecture, NAS solutions, and scalable storage management
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to troubleshoot workflow challenges
Preferred Qualifications/Skills
  • Excellent English communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience designing and deploying cloud solutions for creative workflows
  • Proficiency in Linux (multi-distro preferred)
  • Strong AWS experience (EC2, FSx, VPNs, networking)
  • Experience with render farm management (Deadline) and creative tools (Maya, Nuke, Houdini, C4D)
  • Understanding of networking, VPNs, and cloud infrastructure
  • Familiarity with SSH, Bastion hosts, secure access workflows
  • Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, Terraform, Ansible)
