Description
WOW 1 DAY PAINTING is seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to join our team in Vancouver, BC, operating under a hybrid work model. This role offers a significant opportunity to drive technical excellence within a fast-paced startup, directly impacting our software development lifecycle and overall system reliability. You will be instrumental in enhancing our infrastructure, automating key processes, and ensuring the scalability and performance of our applications.
  • Infrastructure and Automation Management: You will design, build, and maintain scalable and resilient infrastructure on AWS, leveraging Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles with a strong focus on AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK). This includes automating operational tasks through scripting (e.g., Python, Bash) to enhance efficiency and consistency.
  • CI/CD and System Observability: You will be responsible for developing, managing, and optimizing CI/CD pipelines to ensure rapid and reliable application deployments; experience with GitHub Actions is highly valued. Additionally, you will implement and manage comprehensive observability solutions, including logging, monitoring, tracing, and alerting, to proactively maintain system health and performance.
  • Collaboration and Best Practices: You will collaborate directly with software development teams to provide essential infrastructure support and foster a robust DevOps culture. This role also involves managing AWS resources with an emphasis on security, cost optimization, and performance, alongside troubleshooting infrastructure and deployment issues to ensure timely resolution.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in a DevOps, SRE, or similar role.
  • Strong experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and its core services.
  • Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, with a significant preference for AWS CDK.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipeline development and management; GitHub Actions is a plus.
  • Familiarity with implementing and managing observability solutions (logging, monitoring, tracing, alerting).
  • Solid understanding of security best practices in cloud environment
  • Salary is $ 85,000 to $100,000 per annum (The actual salary offered will be commensurate with education, experience, and internal parity).
