Job summary

SteppingStones Tech in Toronto, Ontario, is seeking a DevOps / Cloud Engineer with 2-5 years of hands-on experience to join an established international organization. The role covers cloud infrastructure, automation and software delivery across development and production environments.

You will build and improve CI/CD pipelines, work with Azure, Terraform, Kubernetes, and IaC, and contribute to documentation and best practices.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of experience in DevOps, cloud engineering or related role.
• Hands-on with Microsoft Azure.
• CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment experience.

• Terraform and Infrastructure as Code concepts.

Job description

We are recruiting for a DevOps / Cloud Engineer to join the team of an established international organization in Toronto, Ontario.

This is a hands‑on opportunity for an engineer with approximately 2-5 years of relevant experience who enjoys working across software delivery, cloud infrastructure, automation and DevOps. You will work closely with software engineering and technical teams to improve how applications are built, deployed, monitored and supported across development and production environments.

The role would suit someone who already has a solid technical foundation but is still looking for an environment where they can broaden their engineering experience and take on increasing responsibility.

What You'll Be Doing

• Build, maintain and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines supporting application development and deployment.
• Work with Microsoft Azure environments, helping maintain reliable, secure and scalable cloud infrastructure.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration and deployment processes using Infrastructure as Code.
• Work with Terraform to build and manage repeatable infrastructure environments.
• Support containerized applications and Kubernetes environments.
• Develop scripts and automation to reduce manual processes and improve operational efficiency.
• Work closely with software engineers throughout the development and release lifecycle.
• Support application deployments across development, testing and production environments.
• Troubleshoot deployment, infrastructure and application‑related issues and help identify root causes.
• Assist with monitoring, reliability and performance improvements across technology environments.
• Help improve development workflows, deployment standards, tooling and engineering processes.
• Contribute to documentation and the continued development of DevOps best practices.
• Collaborate with technical colleagues across an international environment on infrastructure and software-delivery initiatives.

What We're Looking For

• Approximately 2-5 years of experience within DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Software Engineering or a closely related technical role.
• Hands‑on experience working with Microsoft Azure.
• Practical experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
• Experience with Azure DevOps or comparable CI/CD tooling.
• Experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code concepts.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes, containers and modern application deployment environments.
• Scripting and automation experience.
• A good understanding of the software development lifecycle and how applications move from development through to production.
• Comfortable working alongside software developers and understanding the relationship between application code, infrastructure and deployment.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and an interest in getting to the root cause of technical issues.
• An automation‑first mindset with an interest in improving existing processes rather than simply maintaining them.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a technical team.
