Job summary

Amaris Consulting is seeking a DevOps Engineer in Montreal, QC for the Data Protection Dev Squad. Hybrid work model (3 days in office). You will implement and operate data security solutions, automate processes, and collaborate across teams to deliver secure, scalable infrastructure.

You will work across cloud and on‑prem environments, participate in Agile ceremonies, and contribute to observability and automation initiatives. The role requires strong scripting, container, and CI/CD skills.

Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of experience in DevOps, automation, or infrastructure engineering.
  • Scripting with Python and Linux shell.
  • Experience with Git and Jenkins pipelines.
  • Experience with CI/CD and test automation.
  • Hands-on with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills.
  • Working knowledge of Windows environments.
  • Experience with Azure and Azure DevOps.
  • Experience supporting applications in public cloud environments.
  • Understanding of secure DevOps practices and cybersecurity controls.
  • Willingness to participate in on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

  • Perform engineering and operational activities for data security services including automation and DevOps tasks.
  • Onboard and maintain DevOps tools and ensure integration with broader tech ecosystem.
  • Collaborate with Data Discovery Squad and stakeholders to enhance services via automation and observability.
  • Participate in design and code reviews across squads and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to Agile ceremonies and delivery practices.
  • Share knowledge through documentation, presentations, and internal communications.

Job description

We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our Data Protection Dev Squad within the Data Protection Services organization. The team is responsible for engineering and operating enterprise data security solutions that protect data across cloud and on-premises environments.

In this role, you will work hands-on with DevOps, automation, cloud technologies, application integration, and infrastructure platforms. You will collaborate with software developers, infrastructure engineers, cybersecurity teams, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable, secure, and automated solutions within an Agile environment.

Work Mode:

Hybrid (3 days/week in office)

Responsibilities
  • Perform engineering and operational activities supporting data security services, including service delivery, task automation, DevOps activities, and participation in an on‑call rota.
  • Onboard new DevOps tools and maintain existing platforms to address business requirements and ensure effective integration with the broader technology ecosystem.
  • Collaborate with the Data Discovery Squad and other technology stakeholders to enhance services through automation, scripting, and effective observability solutions.
  • Participate in design and code reviews across the Data Discovery Squad and relevant stakeholder groups.
  • Contribute actively to the team's Agile operating model, ceremonies, and delivery practices.
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing across global Data Protection squads and chapters through clear documentation, presentations, and internal communications.
Requirements
  • 2–5 years of experience in DevOps, automation, infrastructure engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong scripting experience with Python and Linux Shell.
  • Experience with Git and Jenkins pipelines.
  • Experience with CI/CD and test automation.
  • Hands‑on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux administration and troubleshooting.
  • Working knowledge of Windows environments.
  • Experience with network configuration, troubleshooting, and debugging.
  • Experience with Azure and Azure DevOps.
  • Experience supporting applications or services in public cloud environments.
  • Understanding of key cybersecurity controls and secure DevOps practices.
  • Working knowledge of the AI Software Development Lifecycle (AI SDLC), including secure and governed AI development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and human oversight.
  • Willingness to participate in an on‑call rotation.
Nice to Have
  • Experience with AWS, Microsoft 365, or other cloud platforms.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC) experience with Terraform, Ansible, Cloudify, or similar technologies.
  • Experience with Flux, Grafana, Splunk, or other SRE/observability tools.
  • Experience with Jira and Agile delivery practices.
  • Experience with data security or data discovery platforms such as BigID or Securiti.
  • ITIL / IT Service Management knowledge.
  • Experience integrating open‑source products into enterprise environments.

  • Strong automation and orchestration mindset, with a focus on eliminating manual processes.
  • Hands‑on approach to DevOps implementation, including requirements, testing, automation, deployment, and troubleshooting.
