What You Will Do

Lead the architecture, development, and deployment of a hybrid on-premises and cloud infrastructure, utilizing Kubernetes, Docker and other cloud-native technologies. This position is responsible for designing and implementing a robust logging, SNMP, and telemetry monitoring platform to support several thousand network and system devices at scale. The engineer will also assist with the migration of our current VMWare environment to a KVM based environment. The engineer will optimize CI/CD pipelines, automation while ensuring high availability and performance across the system stack.

  • Manage and monitor all infrastructure and system installations, including configurations, testing, and maintenance.
  • Design, deploy, and maintain hybrid on-prem and Cloud-based Kubernetes infrastructure, leveraging Cilium, Cloud Storage, and related networking technologies.
  • Architect and maintain a logging and monitoring platform using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Logstash, Elasticsearch, and SNMP-based telemetry solutions.
  • Automate system deployment, configuration management, and monitoring using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Helm and Ansible.
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to enhance development workflows and streamline application deployment.
  • Communicate with stakeholders to understand business and system requirements.
  • Collaborate with team members and departments to design, monitor and resolve system implementation activities.
  • Prepare, maintain, and organize all technical and business documents required to support technical solutions created, including user guides.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in DevOps or on-prem Cloud Infrastructure roles.

Skills and Abilities

  • Expertise in Kubernetes (on-prem & cloud-based), Cilium for networking, and Storage solutions.
  • Strong experience in building scalable monitoring and logging platforms using Prometheus, Grafana, Logstash, Elasticsearch, and SNMP telemetry.
  • Proficiency in Linux administration, containerization (Docker), and orchestration technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of VMWare or similar virtualization technologies.
  • Experience with networking, security policies, and automation in Kubernetes environments.
  • Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, automation frameworks, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, Helm, etc.).
  • Familiarity with scripting and development languages such as Python, Go, or Bash.
  • Experience in managing high-availability and fault-tolerant systems at scale.
  • Ability to organize work, be accurate, set priorities, multi-task and work with minimal direction; ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • Possesses integrity, confidentiality and high ethical standards.
  • Demonstrates initiative, judgment and adaptability; takes a solution-based approach to problems and resolves problems quickly and effectively.
  • Certifications in Kubernetes (CKA/CKS), GCP, or related technologies would be an asset.
  • Strong project management skills would be an asset.
