Position Overview

Autodesk is looking for a DevOps Developer to join the Autodesk Platform Services Data Models Team. The team delivers high-value, exabyte-scale cloud data platform components powering desktop, mobile, and web products. This enables our product teams to build cohesive in-product data experiences, our partners to integrate and expand our data, and our end-users to work with their data across all Autodesk products.

You will report to the Software Development Manager - DevOps based in Canada, and the role is hybrid based in Montreal or Toronto. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of and to help evolve the engineering discipline in a lean/Agile environment and to contribute to an organization committed to continuous improvement. You will be part of a team that creates innovative solutions and learns from industry experts. Our team enables real-time data-centric experiences at scale to make a difference for all who imagine, design, and build our world.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in all aspects of software development, working to create and maintain reliable, secure, high-performance, high-throughput services using cloud technology.
  • Collaborate with product managers, product owners, software architects, and other teams to turn high-level requirements into incremental product enhancements.
  • Contribute to software design and architecture using cloud design patterns and integrating cloud expertise throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Improve processes and deliverables to enhance team responsiveness to customer needs.
  • Document and present ideas and solutions thoroughly.
  • Work with talented professionals and learn from them.
  • Experiment, learn, and grow professionally.
  • Utilize the latest cloud technologies.
  • Deliver code used by millions.
  • Mentor others and be mentored.
  • Make key technical decisions.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Graduate or Postgraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields.
  • At least 1 year of experience in DevOps.
  • Experience with AWS cloud infrastructure.
  • Curiosity and understanding of DevOps and site reliability engineering practices.
  • Customer-oriented mindset.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud networking concepts.
  • Experience with Kubernetes/ECS.
  • Experience with configuration management tools (Terraform, Ansible).
  • Experience with CI/CD processes and tools (Jenkins, Spinnaker).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Experience with Docker containerization.
  • Knowledge of networking and security concepts.
  • Experience with SDLC processes and Agile methodologies.
The Ideal Candidate
  • Strong programming skills, preferably in Java.
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools (New Relic, Splunk).
  • API development experience (REST, GraphQL, gRPC).
