DevOps Cloud Engineer – Genesys PureCloud, GCP

Location: Hybrid | Downtown, Toronto and Scarborough

Duration: Approx. 5 months

Our client, a leading financial institution in Downtown Toronto, is looking for a DevOps Cloud Engineer – Genesys PureCloud, GCP to develop & document operational procedures for service operations teams. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with one of the Top 5 Banks in Canada.

Typical Day in Role:

• Enable future capabilities for bank Contact Center – Callback Assist, OmniChannel (SMS/Digital etc.) and seamless integration with current Genesys PureCloud email and chat channel.
• Participate in DevOps design discussions focused on scalability, design, and implementation best practices.
• Ensure software, programs, and applications are developed and/or configured to meet high availability, integrity, and reliability requirements.
• Participate in planning, retrospective sessions, attending stand-ups, etc.
• Support application teams on the use of cloud platform including providing guidance on design patterns, best practices, and security considerations.
• Provide Level 3 support for developed Cloud Services responsibilities.
• Design and manage Cloud Services – Contact Centre as a Service (CCaaS), Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) & Platform as a Service (PaaS).
• Work with engineers and architects on breaking down, scoping, and estimating tasks.

Must-Have Skills:

• 8+ years of relevant DevOps experience.
• 3+ years of hands-on technical working experience in Cloud Services (Azure, AWS, GCP) with at least 1+ hands-on experience working with Genesys PureCloud CCaaS.
• 1+ years of experience working on Contact centre applications.
• 2+ years of hands-on technical working experience in HashiCorp’s Terraform in implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) delivery pipelines (e.g., Terraform modules, Terraform Cloud).
• 2+ years’ experience with Containerization (Docker, Google Kubernetes Engine).

Nice-To-Have Skills:

• 4+ years of hands-on technical working experience using Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) Tools (e.g., GitHub Enterprise and/or Azure DevOps) for maintaining pipelines.
• 1+ years of experience with development languages (Python, Powershell, Go, etc.) – scripts in GCP written in Python, developed using CI/CD pipelines; if issues arise with scripts, they should be able to resolve them; Go is related to Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of AS400, Pega, IVR, and Verint WFM is good to have.
• 1+ years of hands-on technical working experience in the use of Configuration Management & Automation tools (e.g., Saltstack, Perforce’s Puppet, Red Hat Ansible, Progress Chef).
• 2+ years of hands-on technical working experience with Bash and/or Powershell to develop automation & deployment utilities.
• 2+ years’ experience with Storage Services (Persistent Disks, Backup and DR Service, Cloud Storage).
• 2+ years’ experience with Compute (Linux Virtual Machines, Disks, VM Manager, GCVE).

Soft Skills Required:

• Self-sufficient.
• Strong communication skills, both written and spoken; of specific importance is strong communication to a technical audience.
• Attention to details, high standards for quality.
• Writing and maintaining related documentation.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field (master’s degree preferred); GCP, Hashicorp certifications are an asset.
