Device Analyst, PDHIS

Location: Vancouver, BC

Within the Information Management Information Technology Services (IMITS) lower mainland area, supporting Vancouver Coastal Health, Providence Health Care, and others, the Device Analyst reports to the Manager or designate. This professional role requires independence in a multi-site healthcare environment. The analyst applies broad knowledge of IMITS-supported devices, system integration, release/change management, and ITIL principles to analyze complex systems/applications, gather detailed client information, conduct impact analyses, translate business needs into technical requirements, troubleshoot, and participate in initiatives and projects. Responsibilities include creating work plans, testing, evaluation, configuration, and collaboration with colleagues, clients, and vendors.

Qualifications
  • Education, certifications, years' experience, etc.
  • Knowledge of Indigenous-specific mandates and the impacts of settler colonialism on Indigenous Peoples, including a commitment to eradicate Indigenous-specific racism and embed Indigenous Cultural Safety and Humility.
  • Understanding of legislative obligations and provincial commitments such as the TRC Calls to Action, In Plain Sight, BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act, UNDRIP, and related documents.
Core Competencies
  • Understanding of Indigenous-specific and systemic racism within healthcare, and initiatives to foster a safe, inclusive environment informed by Indigenous Cultural Safety.
  • Awareness of the social, economic, and political realities of settler colonialism and strategies to address Indigenous-specific anti-racism.
Skills & Knowledge
  • Commitment to ongoing learning about Indigenous-specific racism and systemic oppression.
  • Foundational knowledge of the impacts of settler colonialism and social determinants of health, with a dedication to upholding relevant legislative and provincial commitments.
