THE TEAM

The Digital Ticketing team is responsible for issuing, managing and validating digital tickets for entry into sports or performance venues. Whether in an Apple or Google wallet (NFC) or with a barcode, the biggest names in the industry rely on us to ensure that spectators can easily enter on the day of the event while ensuring the security and authenticity of the tickets.

THE JOB

As a senior software developer, you will work alongside professionals who are dedicated to delivering a quality product that will delight our customers. Our teams are responsible for the end-to-end delivery of new features and services, including development, quality testing and production deployment. Each small team enjoys a high degree of autonomy, allowing us to quickly move from ideas to production.

More specifically, the project you will be working on combines React.js interface, an Android mobile application, a backend in Java with Spring Boot, as well as some services in Golang; all deployed in the AWS cloud.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Design and develop an event access control platform that supports a large number of users in a secure and stable manner.
  • Advocate for a culture of quality within the team by promoting recognized software quality practices.
  • Automate tests, deployments, monitoring, and system alerts.
  • Interact with the product manager, team leader and other teams.
  • Mentor peers to continuously improve team practices.
  • Define strategies to modernize, maintain, or replace older services.
  • Deploy systems to production.
  • Provide support for production systems.
  • Participate in the maintenance of various systems.
  • Determine the maximum capacities of systems and the necessary changes to improve performance.
  • Diagnose and fix production issues.
  • Participate in production support rotation.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

  • 5 or more years of experience in software development in an Agile environment.
  • 3 or more years of experience in DevOps work in a production environment.
  • Very good knowledge of backend development in Java Sprint Boot.
  • Very good knowledge of development best practices and code quality.
  • Good knowledge of ElasticSearch (or OpenSearch).
  • Good knowledge of MySQL, Scylla DB, and Golang
  • Experience with message streaming platforms like Apache Kafka.
  • Experience with microservices architectures.
  • Relevant frontend development experience is an asset.
  • Good communication and knowledge-sharing skills.
