Responsibilities and Qualifications

This position requires on-site presence three (3) days a week at our office located at 7150 Rue Alexander Fleming, Saint-Laurent, Québec H4S 2C8, Canada.

Responsibilities:

• Software development: Participate in designing, developing, and maintaining software applications. Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code, following best practices. This role involves working on multiple products supporting 911 call reception and GIS location services.
• Code review: Participate in code reviews to ensure quality and compliance with coding standards.
• Testing: Collaborate with QA teams to ensure software is thoroughly tested and meets quality standards. Write and maintain unit and integration tests.
• Troubleshooting: Identify and fix bugs or performance issues. Provide support for diagnosing and resolving technical problems.
• Documentation: Create and maintain documentation for features, processes, and procedures to ensure clear communication.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including designers, product managers, and other developers.
• Version control: Use systems like Git to manage code changes.
• Agile methodologies: Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field; equivalent practical experience considered.
• Experience: 5+ years as a software developer or engineer preferred.
• Programming languages: Proficiency in Java (mandatory), C#, Python, JavaScript, SQL, JSON, etc.
• Linux environment: Experience highly preferred.
• Frameworks and tools: Familiarity with frameworks like .NET, React, Angular, Spring Boot; tools like Git, Jenkins, JIRA.
• Telecommunications: Knowledge of VOIP, SIP protocols, call flows; previous telecom experience advantageous.
• Cloud: Familiarity with Azure, AWS, and cloud technologies like Terraform beneficial.
• Problem-solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills; team-oriented.
• SDLC knowledge: Understanding of software development lifecycle and Agile methodologies.
• Databases: Knowledge of Oracle DB preferred; basic understanding of SQL, NoSQL systems.

This role requires candidates to be fully bilingual in French and English, as collaboration with teams in both Canada and the USA is essential.
