Job summary

The Ottawa Catholic School Board is seeking a Developmental Assistant for Lester B. Pearson High School to support students with exceptional needs and assist with program planning and implementation.

This 3‑month term offers a salary range of $49,117 to $52,809 per year (prorated if part-time) for 35 hours per week, with an expected start around September 14, 2026.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Developmental Services Worker or equivalent required.
• CPR and First Aid are required.
• Strong written and oral communication and teamwork skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and implementing programs for students with exceptional needs.
• Develop gross and fine motor, communication, self-regulation, socialization and self-care skills.
• Assist in evaluating progress and in general school activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Job Description

Required Qualifications

• Developmental Services Worker diploma, Nursing, Health Sciences or an equivalent program;
• 2 years of related experience;
• CPR and First Aid;
• good written and oral communication skills;
• initiative and commitment;
• and the ability to work as a team member.
• Individuals who possess an equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.

This is a 3-month term position with an annual salary range of $49,117 to $52,809 ($32.63 to $35.08 hourly)(to be prorated if part‑time hours).

The start date is approximately September 14, 2026 to December 18, 2026
