Work Information

Location: Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. Hours: 37.5 per week.

Pay Range: $50,000 – $100,000 CAD plus commission‑based earnings.

Line of Business: TD Wealth.

Role Overview

TD Wealth, Private Wealth Management (PWM) provides high‑net‑worth clients with holistic discovery and planning. The Developing Investment Advisor Program trains individuals in technical, financial, and interpersonal skills to build a successful client portfolio.

Accountabilities
  • Build a client base of HNW & UHNW clients, families, and business owners.
  • Develop comprehensive wealth management and investment strategies based on client needs.
  • Recommend portfolio construction, security selection, monitoring, and rebalancing.
  • Action a business plan focused on building client base and market share through prospecting, marketing, and pipeline development.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to attract, acquire, retain customers and referrals.
  • Take a OneTD approach by establishing beneficial relationships between clients and TD Partners.
  • Protect the organization’s interests by identifying and managing risks effectively.
Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree in finance, business, economics, or related discipline.
  • Licensed as a Registered Representative with CIRO.
  • Professional designations such as CFP, CIM, and/or CFA are considered assets.
  • 3+ years of experience in a client‑facing, sales or relationship‑focused role, ideally in a mutual fund or brokerage environment.
  • Deep knowledge of the investment landscape, markets, and portfolio management.
  • Curiosity and desire to stay on top of the latest trends and to be a thought leader.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven entrepreneurial experience and ability to prospect and manage client relationships.
  • Comfort with compliance requirements and commitment to ethical client service.
  • Life Insurance License (LLQP) must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
