Job summary

Minnesota IT Services (MNIT) is seeking a Developer - Interoperability to design, configure, and maintain integration solutions across health data systems. You will work with MDH partners and MNIT leads to ensure secure, standards-based data exchange and timely deployment of integration tools.

The role emphasizes collaboration, documentation, and adherence to coding standards, with onsite work and 50% telework eligibility in Minnesota.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years of IT related experience in computer science, information technology, software engineering, information systems, or a closely related field.
• Experience developing or maintaining application interfaces, APIs, integration workflows, or data transformation processes.
• Experience with JSON, XML, data mapping, transformation, and validation.
• Experience with SQL and databases as they relate to data integration and transformation.
• Experience with source control, automated testing, troubleshooting, and technical documentation.
• Ability to design, develop, configure, test, troubleshoot, and maintain integrations between applications and systems.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively and to deliver positive user experiences.

The MNIT MDH team provides services for over 250+ applications and delivers the information technology to drive one of the leading public health systems in the nation. This position supports MNIT’s interoperability efforts at the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) by developing, configuring, and maintaining integration solutions that enable efficient data exchange across systems. The incumbent is responsible for implementing and supporting technical interfaces in alignment with established coding standards and operational processes. Working collaboratively with MNIT technical leads and MDH partners, this role also contributes to the deployment and ongoing support of vendor integration tools and technologies.

This position is temporary and includes full state fringe benefits; it is anticipated to last one (1) year.

This Position Requires An Employee To Work Onsite At 625 Robert St. N, Minnesota At Least 50% [or More Or Less If Space Limitations Remain] Of The Time, With Limited Telework Available. Telework Eligibility Depends On Residence

• Candidates living in Minnesota or within 50 miles of the worksite in a bordering state (Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin) may telework up to 50%.
• Minnesota residents living more than 50 miles from the worksite may be eligible to telework more than 50%.
• Candidates living 50 miles or more from the worksite in a bordering state may work onsite 100% or may be telework eligible if relocating within 50 miles.

Education in Information Technology (IT) or an IT related field may substitute for experience as follows: a master’s degree for eighteen (18) months of experience; a bachelor’s degree for one (1) year; and an associate’s degree for six (6) months.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AWS or Azure services
• Experience with Rhapsody software
• Experience with Healthcare Interoperability standards HL7 and FHIR
• Experience with programming or scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, Groovy, Java, or comparable technologies.
• Knowledge of authentication, authorization, application security, and secure data exchange practices.
