Job summary

Bank of Montreal (BMO) is seeking a data and AI-focused professional to contribute to planning, design, development, testing, and support of data products. You will work with stakeholders to translate requirements into data and AI solutions, influence technical designs, and accelerate delivery through reusable code and automation.

Collaboration and problem-solving are essential as you support production issues and drive process improvements.

Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of relevant IT experience or education/certs.
  • Experience with ETL/ELT development and data warehousing concepts.
  • Experience with SQL, NoSQL, Python, Spark/PySpark, Scala.
  • Experience with SSIS, Glue, cloud storage and computing services (AWS, Azure).
  • Experience with structured, semi-structured and unstructured datasets (batch and streaming).
  • Experience with data analysis, data modeling, data mapping, and data profiling.
  • Knowledge of AI concepts, GenAI, prompt engineering, RAG and SDLC tools.

DAT Engineering collaborates with multiple groups across the bank deliver hundreds of initiatives every year to help our partners solve problems and make smarter data-driven decisions.

Contribute to the planning, design, development, testing, implementation, documentation, and support of data and AI products.

Partner with business stakeholders in translating business requirements (functional and non-functional) into data and AI products.

Contribute input on technical designs and ensure alignment with standards and roadmaps.

Accelerate development by building frameworks, automation scripts, and reusable code.

Identify, track, and perform regression testing on defects found. Support production issues, including completion of root-cause analysis. Participate in process improvement opportunities to improve delivery and deployment capabilities.

Qualifications
  • 2 - 5 years of relevant experience and IT education and/or certification(s).
  • Experience with ETL/ELT development/testing and data warehousing concepts.
  • Experience with SQL, NoSQL, Python, Spark/PySpark, Scala.
  • Experience with SSIS, Glue, Cloud storage and computing services (e.g. AWS, Azure), Hadoop, Netezza.
  • Experience with structured, semi structured and unstructured datasets in batch and streaming.
  • Experience with data analysis, data modeling, data mapping and data profiling.
  • Experience with AI concepts, GenAI, prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), AI-powered tools in SDLC, etc.
  • Knowledge of technical/business environment and processes.
  • Experience with Agile delivery, including usage of JIRA.

Salary: $55,500.00 - $120,000.00 Pay Type: Salaried The above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type. Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position. BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
