Job summary

Data and AI engineers at BMO Financial Group in Toronto are tasked with building data and AI products that deliver timely insights to drive business value. Qualifications

• 2–5 years of relevant IT experience and/or IT education/certifications.

• Experience with SSIS, Glue, Cloud storage and computing services.
• Experience with batch and streaming data, data modeling and profiling.
• Knowledge of AI concepts, GenAI, prompt engineering, RAG and SDLC tools.
• Strong communication, collaboration and analytical skills.

Data and AI Technology (DAT) Engineering supports BMO’s Digital-First, risk, regulatory and compliance requirements by building data and AI products that provide timely actionable insights to drive desired business outcomes and value. • Contribute to the planning, design, development, testing, implementation, documentation, and support of data and AI products.
• Partner with business stakeholders in translating business requirements (functional and non-functional) into data and AI products.
• Contribute input on technical designs and ensure alignment with standards and roadmaps.
• Accelerate development by building frameworks, automation scripts, and reusable code.
• Identify, track, and perform regression testing on defects found.
• Support production issues, including completion of root-cause analysis.
• Participate in process improvement opportunities to improve delivery and deployment capabilities.

Qualifications

• 2 - 5 years of relevant experience and IT education and/or certification(s).
• Experience with ETL/ELT development/testing and data warehousing concepts.
• Experience with SQL, NoSQL, Python, Spark/PySpark, Scala.
• Experience with SSIS, Glue, Cloud storage and computing services (e.g. AWS, Azure), Hadoop, Netezza.
• Experience with structured, semi structured and unstructured datasets in batch and streaming.
• Experience with data analysis, data modeling, data mapping and data profiling.
• Experience with AI concepts, GenAI, prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), AI-powered tools in SDLC,etc.
• Knowledge of technical/business environment and processes.
• Experience with Agile delivery, including usage of JIRA.

Salary** : **

$55,500.00 - $120,000.00

The above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
