Job summary

Strescon Limited, a leading precast concrete manufacturer in Eastern Canada, seeks a Pipe Detailer to detail pipe and manhole assemblies from municipal drawings in a fast-paced environment. You will perform material take-offs and create shop drawings using AutoCad and Tekla Structures, coordinating with project managers.

The ideal candidate has technical post-secondary training (civil/structural/mechanical), can read construction drawings, and is proficient with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary technical training in civil/structural/mechanical fields.
• Ability to read construction drawings and perform material take-offs.
• Experience with AutoCad or Tekla Structures is preferred.
• Experience with Oracle/JD Edwards is an asset.
• Excellent time management and written/verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Strescon manufactures a wide range of both architectural and structural precast/prestressed concrete products including bridge girders, wall panels, complete parking garages, hollow‑core planking, piling and deck slabs. In addition to our engineered precast facilities for custom components, Strescon also operates a 32,000 sq. ft. facility in Saint John which manufactures standard concrete products for engineered drainage systems, such as pipe, manholes and catch basins.

Job Summary

The Pipe Detailer is responsible for detailing concrete pipe and manhole assemblies and components. The individual in this role will work with contract drawings while following the specifications as defined by individual municipalities. The position requires experience in a technical environment with strong background in computer applications and online document management. Exceptional time management and communication skills are critical as the ideal candidate must be able to multi‑task, learn quickly and thrive in a fast‑paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Data entry into specialized software ( Stack-It )
• Material take‑offs from contract drawings
• Creating shop drawings in drafting software (AutoCad, Tekla Structures)
• Communication and collaboration with project managers, engineering, and the plant to create accurate drawings for each project
• Other duties as assigned

Technical Requirements

• Post‑secondary education from a technical program (civil, structural, mechanical)
• Experience in manufacturing or construction would be considered an asset
• Experience using drafting software would be an asset
• Experience with Oracle / JD Edwards would be an asset
• Ability to read construction drawings
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
