Job Description:

The Desktop Support Technician supports and maintains in-house computer systems, desktops, and peripherals, providing Level 1 and 2 support for the Support Center. Responsibilities include installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading desktop hardware, software, and operating systems to ensure optimal performance. The role also involves managing software configurations, inventory, and licensing compliance, as well as troubleshooting user issues via various support channels.

Essential Functions:
  • Set up and repair in-house systems, terminals, and printers
  • Maintain inventory of equipment and software
  • Assist with hardware preventative maintenance and warranty repairs
  • Ensure proper configurations with other technicians or administrators
  • Support software installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and upgrades
  • Handle support requests from end-users courteously and efficiently
  • Document incidents, resolutions, and procedures
  • Follow up on support requests to ensure timely resolution
  • Maintain knowledge of new technologies and ensure compliance with internal controls
  • Provide training on specific hardware configurations as needed
  • Backup support for Support Center Specialists
Ideal Candidate:
  • Associates degree or equivalent experience
  • Hardware troubleshooting experience
  • Knowledge of desktop hardware, peripherals, Windows, Linux, and thin client systems
  • Familiarity with system imaging and business software
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Effective communication skills and ability to handle confidential information
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
