Job summary

Capital Engineering is seeking Engineering Designers/Technologists to join our Edmonton team across Mechanical, Electrical, Civil/Structural, Piping, and Instrumentation & Controls disciplines.

We value practical engineering solutions delivered in a collaborative, in-office environment. Edmonton-based roles support projects from concept through construction with a focus on safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Diploma, certificate, or technical education relevant to your discipline.
• Experience in industrial projects, ideally in an EPC setting.
• Experience in oil & gas, energy, mining, and/or chemical sectors.
• Experience in oil sands, upgrading, refining, and tailings are assets.
• Proficiency with relevant design software and tools.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate technical documentation.
• Strong technical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Develop and revise engineering drawings, models, layouts, and design documentation.
• Collaborate with engineers and project teams to develop practical design solutions.
• Interpret engineering specifications, sketches, calculations, and project requirements.
• Complete design work in accordance with codes, standards, and client requirements.
• Coordinate designs with other disciplines and identify potential conflicts.
• Participate in field visits, site measurements, and construction support.
• Review drawings and deliverables for accuracy and completeness.
• Support projects through all stages from concept to construction.

Capital Engineering is looking for talented Engineering Designers/Technologists to join our growing team. We have opportunities across multiple disciplines, including Mechanical, Electrical, Civil/Structural, Piping, or Instrumentation & Controls.

What You’ll Do

Depending on your discipline and experience, you may:
