Job description

As an integral member of our structural and mechanical teams, your main role will be the preparation of drawings such as the layout, modeling, and development of general arrangements. This includes buildings, industrial structures, infrastructure, equipment, and piping. Travel to job sites may be required on a short-term basis for field measurements, condition inspections, or construction administration and management support.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and characteristics :

• Five to seven years of experience relevant to the design of buildings and industrial structures and facilities (applicants with more or less experience are also encouraged to apply).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, SolidWorks, Plant 3D, Navisworks, or other similar software packages.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent record-keeping skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Interpersonal skills and willingness to collaborate with a growing team.
• Experience applying design criteria, industry standards, and client specifications is considered an asset but not required.
• Experience working in a steel fabrication shop is considered an asset but not required.
• Experience in setting up and using Revit for large industrial facilities is an asset.
• Formal education in design and drafting is an asset.
• Ability to liaise with clients, contractors, and consultants is an asset.
• A valid BC driver’s license is an asset but not required.
