Qualifications

RVA is looking to hire a Designer/Engineering Technologist in our Halifax or Fredericton office.

Duties:

  • Assist in the design and drafting of municipal, civil and transportation projects such as watermains, sewer mains, site plans, road reconstruction, sidewalks, bike lanes, multi-use paths, intersections, storm water management, etc.
  • Prepare drawings for linear infrastructure projects.
  • Prepare engineering design calculations and technical reports.
  • Attend client meetings and prepare meeting minutes as required.
  • Assist in the preparation of tender specifications for projects.
  • Work in the field to gather data for projects.
  • Site review during construction as required.
  • Other duties as required and deemed appropriate for the position.

Qualifications:

  • Recent college graduate from a 2-3 year Civil/Municipal Engineering program, drafting program or a College Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology.
  • 1-2 years of relevant work experience is preferred.
  • Able to obtain CET designation upon completion or required experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Demonstrated experiencewith AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D are required, experience with REVIT is an asset.
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Projects.
  • Highly organized with the ability to coordinate work across multiple teams and job sites.
  • Demonstrates superior English communication skills both oral and written.
  • A valid Class 5 driver’s license is required.
  • Access to a reliable vehicle is an asset.
