Job summary

Adecco is actively seeking an Electrical Engineering Lead - Power Distribution to join our client's Calgary-based engineering team. Reporting to the Discipline Lead, this role oversees electrical design and power distribution across complex oil and gas projects from concept to completion, providing technical leadership and mentorship.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical Engineering or Applied Science (or equivalent).
• 7+ years facilities engineering/design experience in oil & gas; 10+ years preferred.
• Registered P.Eng with APEGA.
• Strong knowledge of electrical drawings, SLDs, wiring diagrams, cable schedules, and EHT isometrics.
• Proficient in ETAP or SKM modeling and advanced electrical calculations.
• Knowledge of Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) and industry standards.
• Leadership, mentoring, and ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent written and oral communication and time management.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design for oil & gas facilities from concept to construction.
• Develop design criteria, drawings, specifications, BOMs, and work packages.
• Perform load flow, voltage drop, cable sizing, EHT, and demand load studies.
• Review and approve ETAP/SKM models, vendor/subcontractor drawings, and docs.
• Supervise electrical design activities for multiple units.
• Provide construction support and participate in site visits as needed.
• Mentor junior engineers and review their work for accuracy.
• Coordinate with process, mechanical, civil/structural, instrumentation, piping teams.
• Manage equipment requisitions: motors, MCC, switchgear, VFDs, UPS, EHT panels, e-houses.
• Ensure compliance with CEC, international codes, safety standards, and project specs.
• Contribute to cost estimating, proposals, and project schedules.

The successful candidate will provide technical leadership, guide junior staff, and ensure all project deliverables meet safety, quality and regulatory standards.

• Pay Rate $130k-$170k/year.

• Registered P.Eng. with APEGA.
• Strong knowledge of electrical drawings, SLDs, wiring diagrams, cable schedules, and EHT isometrics.
• Proficient in ETAP or SKM modeling and advanced electrical calculations.
• Experienced with procurement of electrical equipment (motors, MCC, switchgear, VFDs, UPS, EHT panels).
• Knowledge of Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) and industry standards.
• Strong leadership, mentoring, and team coordination skills.
• Excellent written/oral communication and time management.
• Able to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
