The Opportunity: Motion-Forward Creative Designer

We’re on the hunt for a motion-first Creative Designer who lives and breathes visual storytelling, thrives in tech-savvy, fast-paced environments, and gets excited about how digital content can transform real-world spaces. If you have a passion for motion graphics, an eye for detail, and a brain wired for innovation then we want to talk.

As part of our Waterloo-based creative team, you’ll contribute to a variety of projects that live across digital menu boards, retail displays, mall directories, large-format installations, and more. Your work will be seen by millions, and your creativity will directly shape how Canada experiences some of its most recognizable brands.

What You’ll Do

  • Own the motion design and animation process from ideation to execution
  • Craft compelling storyboards, style frames, and motion tests to bring concepts to life
  • Develop high-quality animated content that is dynamic, brand-right, and optimized for real-world playback
  • Collaborate with designers, developers, strategists, and project managers across multiple disciplines
  • Stay ahead of evolving digital formats and push innovation with every new project

Must-Have Skills & Experience

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in motion and digital design (agency or in-house studio)
  • Expert-level proficiency in After Effects, you know how to build clean, expressive animations, not just templates
  • Skilled in Photoshop, Illustrator, and comfortable with CSS
  • Familiarity with Cinema 4D or other 3D software is a big asset
  • Strong grasp of storytelling, pacing, visual rhythm, and animation principles
  • Able to storyboard and pitch your ideas effectively
  • Experience creating content for screen-based applications, from standard formats to complex installations

Nice-to-Have Bonus Skills

  • UI/UX design knowledge
  • Experience with generative or interactive content
  • Comfort working in tech-enabled production environments or for retail/QSR clients
  • An interest in spatial storytelling, digital architecture, or emerging media formats
