Qualifications

  • 2 to 5 years as an engineer required.
  • 1 to 2 years in a similar position preferred.
  • Experience in industrial equipment manufacturing is an asset.

  • Assist in the industrialization and first assembly of new products.

We are looking for a Mechanical Designer to join our team!

Primary Responsibilities

  • Design product that meets customer requirements and at the same time meet the international valve design standards
  • Design product, in a cross functional team, while optimizing manufacturability, cost, and quality
  • Design product using Velan engineering standards and requirements as well as basics of sound engineering practice
  • Release designs, 3d models, calculations, drawings, and finite element analysis.
  • Release parts lists (BOM) for production on time
  • Ensure design for manufacturability and maintenance
  • Assist Industrial Engineering and Production plants with the industrialization and the first assembly of new products in the production cells
  • Follow technologies and products trends in associations, technical committees, social media

Requirements

If you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or engineering technology, or the equivalent
  • Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ)
  • 2 to 5 years as an engineer
  • 1 to 2 year(s) in a similar position
  • Experience in an industrial equipment manufacturing environment – an asset
  • Fluency in French and English (written and oral)
  • Strong understanding of design engineering methods and processes
  • Good understanding of machining and assembly methods
  • Knowledge and experience using 3D solid modeling CAD systems (Preference Creo)
  • Knowledge and experience using engineering and design analytical software (ANSYS, CFX, MathCAD, etc.)
  • Knowledge and experience with valve and pressure vessel design standards and procedures, including ASME, API, ISO, MSS, BS, DIN, etc.
