Job summary

EnVision Consultants Ltd. is seeking an experienced Designer to join our Land Development team in Ontario. You will contribute to multi-disciplinary projects, translate design concepts into drawings, and collaborate with a range of stakeholders.

The role requires 1–4 years of civil engineering experience, a degree in civil engineering, and proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D. A P.Eng. pathway and valid G license are preferred as you support site travels across the GTA and Ontario.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology Diploma with relevant coursework.
• 1-4 years of experience in a similar environment.
• Eligibility for P.Eng. with Professional Engineers Ontario.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Ability to understand local development design standards and regulations.
• Proven success in client relationship management and leadership.
• Valid G license and vehicle for site travel.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to engineering design assignments in a team environment on large multisector project teams.
• Develop concept, preliminary and detailed drawings, designs, specifications and plans for design, tender, construction and as-constructed drawing sets.
• Prepare reports and other project related documentation.
• Participate in project management and planning on various projects.

• Proactively commit to creating a positive work environment.
• Support and/or develop Health & Safety programs.
• Collaborate with other disciplines on multi-disciplinary projects.
• Travel to sites within the Greater Toronto Area and Ontario, as needed.
• Any other functions assigned as part of your employment.

To apply to this position, you should expect to have:

• Degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology Diploma from an accredited university/college, with coursework to include urban water systems, municipal infrastructure, construction engineering, hydrology, and transportation
• 1-4 years of experience in a similar environment
• Eligibility for P.Eng. with Professional Engineers Ontario
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D
• Ability to understand and come quickly up to speed on local development design standards and regulations
• Proven success in client relationship management and strong leadership skills
• Comfortable interacting with public agencies, clients, contractors, and co-workers
• Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively, and to proactively respond to time-sensitive issues
• A valid G license and access to a vehicle to travel to and from sites (mileage to sites compensated), including valid and appropriate vehicle insurance
