Job summary

Keewatin-Patricia District School Board (KPDSB) is seeking a Designated Early Childhood Educator (DECE) to support early learning at Red Lake-Madsen Public School. The role is full-time (1.0 fte, 32.5 hours per week) with a wage of S25.80/hr for unqualified and S26.80/hr for qualified candidates.

Under the Principal's guidance, the DECE collaborates with teachers and families to plan and implement the early learning program, track progress, and contribute to report cards and parent conferences.

Qualifications

• Ontario High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Diploma or Degree in Early Childhood Education.
• Registration with the Ontario College of Early Childhood Educators.
• Two years of experience in a similar environment.
• First Aid and CPR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support early learning in an enriched learning environment to develop social, emotional, academic and physical skills.
• Plan and implement the Early Learning program with the classroom teacher.
• Track developmental progress and assist with report cards and parent conferences.
• Create inclusive learning environment and facilitate home/school communication.
• Provide health, safety and well-being oversight.
