About The Role

We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Design Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will contribute to the success of high-profile design-build projects by supporting the design process from concept through completion. You’ll ensure that all designs meet contractual and industry standards while delivering innovative, cost-effective, and constructible solutions. This role requires close collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders to drive seamless project execution and uphold our commitment to design excellence.

As a Design Specialist At Graham You Will

  • Lead design consultations and manage teaming and design service agreements
  • Oversee design production to ensure alignment with project timelines and deliverables
  • Validate designs for compliance, constructability, cost-effectiveness, and competitiveness
  • Coordinate closely with Bid and Project Execution teams to align design with project goals
  • Manage design consultants to ensure adherence to contractual obligations and industry standards
  • Liaise with Procurement and Construction teams to ensure design compliance and mitigate risks
  • Conduct audits of design documents to ensure quality and consistency
  • Manage clash detection processes and oversee resolution of technical queries and RFIs
  • Monitor material quantities and manage variances to maintain cost efficiency
  • Identify and quantify design risks; contribute to monthly budget forecasts
  • Review and resolve design quality issues and contract variances, escalating to the Commercial Manager as needed
  • Maintain and manage the design schedule in alignment with the master project schedule

Qualifications / Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related technical, business, or scientific field
  • 3–5 years of experience in roles such as Project Coordinator, Project Manager, Construction Manager, or Technical Manager is an asset
  • Excellent technical writing and documentation abilities
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and BIM tools such as Navisworks (3D / 4D) and Revit
