AtkinsRéalis in Canada is seeking a Design Manager for the Gateway Program, coordinating multi-disciplinary design across pre-construction and design phases. The role involves client interface, design consultancy management, and leading design reviews with a strong emphasis on cost and schedule controls.

Requires 10+ years in large capital programs, expertise in AutoCAD, Revit, BIM/Civil 3D, and exceptional stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

  • Typically, a minimum of 10 years of professional experience in large capital programs in an engineering/design management role.
  • Proven experience using AutoCAD & Revit (BIM/Civil 3D is an asset) and MS Office.
  • Experience in performing design reviews and facilitating design coordination activities.
  • Strong knowledge of program development including scope finalization, cost estimating, scheduling, and risk assessment.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills with large groups of stakeholders.
  • Strong technical capability across project phases and ability to solve complex problems using data analytics.
  • Experience managing senior stakeholder relationships and providing strategic level reporting.

  • Manages design consultancy agreements to meet contract requirements (technical spec, schedule, cost).

  • Manages external stakeholder reviews (airlines, authorities) and provides executive level progress reports.
  • Coaches and mentors GTAA staff and supports career development.

### **Job Description**## **Overview**The Design Manager, T1/T3 Revitalization role will be hired under the Engineering Management Centre of Excellence group within the Engineering Management Technical Professional Organization (TPO) of Engineering Services Canada. The Design Manager, Gateway Program role will play a support role in the delivery of Engineering Services on a large project. Reporting to the Director of Operations, the candidate will lead and coordinate the implementation of multidisciplinary design standards and works collaboratively with the main contractor. Responsibilities include oversight of pre-construction phase services, client interface at multiple levels, design consultancy management, facilitating design reviews, external stakeholder management, and technical assistance. Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience, and potential impact on the role.
